I was playing around with their backstories, and this is what I came up with~;

Manni- The daughter of poor cow farmers who live in Rindhart Village. She has a very sickly younger sister, so her parents usually are preoccupied with her care, leaving nine year old Manni to cover the farmwork. As this would usually be an overwhelming task, Manni was blessed from birth with abnormal strength-enough to do the work of 15 men. Because of her parents' status, this was overlooked by many until the king set out to find the "strongest of his land" to save his kidnapped son. Manni was chosen, and was set out to find Eddie.
She has a really strong moral compass and always wants to find a way to set things right. She worries how her family is doing without her there, so tries to move along her adventure as fast as possible. She's loyal, and only speaks when absolutely necessary.  


Rache- The spirit of a forest next to Rindhart. She's lived their for ten years, never knowing her parents or having any friends. She's usually hostile towards adults who travel in the woods and likes to play tricks on them, but is kind to animals or other children, as they will usually play with her. Manni is her first real friend, as she urges Rache to come travel with her in search of Eddie. Rache is very excited to see the world around her, but is full of resentment when she comes in contact with adults, and they tend to pollute her forest.
Rache is very excitable and loves to play. She has magical forest powers! She warms up very quickly to anyone her age, and loves to talk. 


Beetle- The son of travelers, Beetle was cursed at a young age when his parents bought a pair of ancient clawed gloves; when they gave them to their son to hold, he found he could never take them off, making him a constant weapon. Terrified, his parents disowned him, and Beetle started to live underground in the woods. He's terrified of hurting anyone, so he tries to sleep constantly. When Manni and Rache begin to search for the prince, they meet Beetle, and give him the name when they find out beetles make a home in his hair. 
He's very smart and educated (being eleven,) but also does not have very good social skills, as he hardly ever sees people. He can sound very mean and cold, and goes out of his way to avoid other travelers, but really just wants to keep everyone safe. The claws have now molded to his hands, making every finger a sharp weapon, but can also shoot from his hands and retract, kind of like grappling hooks!


Edmund (Eddie)- The son of a wealthy, well-loved prince. He's often called the "Wimpy Prince" or the "Pink Prince," as he is very timid and pink is him family color. However, Eddie is quite smart and can think for himself, something many people in his family couldn't do. He is scared very easily and has been kidnapped for ransom many times, making him very weary of adults. When Manni, Rache and Beetle DO find him, he wasn't kidnapped, but actually ran away when he found out his father was sending the village to war just to make a profit. When the team decides to go back to the village, they are all stolen by bandits and are taken to the neighboring "enemy" village. 
Eddie befriends the others quite quickly, as he never had the opportunity to play with kids around him. Eddie wields a "defense staff" that is actually used for healing (before he figured this out, he would wack people). Even though Eddie usually has to heal himself more oft than the others (he bruises very easily,) he's an indispensable part of the team!
